President, Gilchrist Hospice Care

Catherine J. Boyne has served as president of Gilchrist Hospice Care, a GBMC HealthCare subsidiary, since 1998 and serves as a member of the GBMC HealthCare Executive Team.

Gilchrist Hospice Care

, a Medicare certified hospice, fully licensed non-profit organization, is the largest, not-for-profit hospice organization in the State of Maryland.  Gilchrist Hospice Care began serving patients in January of 1994 and since that time has administered hospice care to more than 10,000 patients and their families. Gilchrist Hospice Care is the inpatient facility located on the campus of Greater Baltimore Medical Center.

Ms. Boyne has significant experience in the health care delivery system and is currently responsible for post-acute services, including care management and the hospital’s sub-acute unit, senior services and geriatric physician practices.

Ms. Boyne has held prior healthcare positions with Church Home & Hospital, KPMG Peat Marwick, St. Agnes Hospital, Maryland Health Network and Genesis Eldercare.  Ms. Boyne is a Diplomate of the American College of HealthCare Executives and a member of the American Hospital Association – Society of Ambulatory Care Professionals.  She is a graduate of the Greater Baltimore Committee Leadership Program and is an active member of the Baltimore community, holding leadership positions in organizations including the Junior League of Baltimore, Santa Claus Anonymous, Junior Association of Commerce, Guilford Board of Managers, The Odyssey School and the UVA Alumni Association.  Ms. Boyne was recognized as one of the Top 50 Women in Business by Baltimore magazine.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and a Master’s of Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia.  Ms. Boyne, her husband, Douglas Perry and their two children reside in the Guilford neighborhood of Baltimore.
