Michael A. Forthman joined GBMC HealthCare as Vice President of Facilities and Support Services in August 2005 and serves as a member of the executive team, responsible for providing administrative leadership and oversight of clinical engineering, construction management, environmental services, environmental safety, food services, plant operations, and security services.
Mr. Forthman has 16 years of healthcare experience, having served in several administrative leadership positions with Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maryland.
A resident of Forest Hill in Harford County, Maryland, Mr. Forthman earned both a bachelor’s of business administration in finance and a master’s of business administration from Loyola College.
Mr. Forthman’s professional affiliations include serving as a board member for the Maryland Association of Healthcare Executives and as a member of the American Academy of Medical Administrators and the American College of Healthcare Executives. His community service includes volunteering with the March of Dimes as chairman of the board of directors for the Central Maryland chapter and with the United Way and Forest Hill Parks & Recreation.
