Jody Porter, RN, BSN, MBA, CNOR
Senior Vice President - Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer, GBMC HealthCare   

Jody Porter, RN, BSN, MBA, CNOR, serves as Senior Vice President - Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer for GBMC HealthCare, where she has previously served as Vice President of Nursing/Chief Nurse Executive and as Executive Director for Surgical Services. Ms. Porter, a member of the GBMC HealthCare Executive Team since 2001, holds RN licenses in both Maryland and Pennsylvania and is certified in perioperative nursing.

Her responsibilities include directing and facilitating development of hospital-wide patient care programs, implementing Greater Baltimore Medical Center’s plan for nursing care, and participating in quality improvement programs.  Ms. Porter also is responsible for managing a variety of clinical service areas, an integrated admission process, administrative coordinators and staffing office functions. 

Ms. Porter provided oversight for GBMC’s $34 million renovation project which added four operating rooms, a Post Anesthesia Care Unit, an Intensive Care Unit, and an expanded Emergency Department.

Ms. Porter is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Organization of Nurse Executives; Maryland Organization of Nurse Executives; Maryland Nurses Association; and the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses, as well as a member of the Cedar Crest College Alumni Association and The Reading Hospital and Medical Center School of Nursing Alumni Association.

She is a member of the Professional and Technical Advisory Committee (Hospital) to The Joint Commission and the American College of Health Care Executives, among other professional organizations.

Ms. Porter received her initial nursing education at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center School of Nursing; bachelor’s in nursing from Cedar Crest College, and master’s in business administration from DeSales University.

Ms. Porter previously held healthcare positions with Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems of Ann Arbor, Michigan and with Lehigh Valley Health Network and Lehigh Valley Hospital, both of Allentown, Pennsylvania.
