| Mark R. Thomas
Mark R. Thomas joined the executive staff of GBMC HealthCare in July 2006 as vice president of human resources and organizational development. A veteran of more than 30 years in healthcare management, Mr. Thomas is responsible for overseeing the human resources efforts of one of Baltimore County’s largest private-sector employers (3,500+ FTEs), supervising customer service initiatives and continuing efforts to make GBMC an employer of choice.
Thomas has served as a senior HR executive with community hospitals and large integrated healthcare systems. Among other positions, he has served as vice president of human resources for Alegent Health, an integrated system of nine hospitals, 8,000 employees and a 130-member primary care group based in Omaha, Ne.; and as regional vice president of human resources of the 5,200 employee Franciscan Health System of the Ohio Valley in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mr. Thomas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in industrial relations from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo. and a Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Tulsa.Mr. Thomas resides in Towson, Md.
