Audiology @ GBMC: Meet the Staff


Kimberly Bank, Au.D., CCC/A, Senior Audiologist

 
Kimberly Bank received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, her Master of Arts degree from Hofstra University, and her Doctorate of Audiology from A.T. Still University.  She completed her Clinical Fellowship Year at Towson University.  Dr. Bank holds memberships in several national professional associations.  She has been employed at the GBMC Otolaryngology Center of Excellence:  Audiology Division since 1992 and became the department's Senior Audiologist in 2004.  At GBMC, Dr. Bank has facilitated a monthly tinnitus support group and implemented the hospital's universal hearing screening program.  Dr. Bank has lectured and presented on Audiology topics including hearing loss, newborn hearing screening and amplification systems throughout the community and at local professional seminars.  Dr. Bank's special interests include pediatric amplification and advanced hearing aid systems.

Denise Zawitoski, Au.D., CCC/A, Staff Audiologist


Denise Zawitoski recieved her Bachelor of Arts degree from     West Virginia University, a Master of Arts degree from Ohio University and Doctorate of Audiology degree from University of Florida.  Her Clinical Fellowship Year was completed at Towson University.  Dr. Zawitoski has worked in ENT practices in both Maryland and Rhode Island.  Dr. Zawitoski came to GBMC in 2004 after several years in another Baltimore area community hospital where she transitioned a high risk hearing screening program to a Universal Hearing Screening program.  She was active in the passage of Maryland’s legislation regarding universal newborn hearing screening.  Dr. Zawitoski maintains professional memberships in both state and national organizations.  She currently serves as a Board member for the Maryland Academy of Audiology.  Dr. Zawitoski has presented to professional, community and university groups on various topics in audiology such as amplification, newborn hearing screening and hearing loss.  Dr. Zawitoski’s professional interests are pediatric assessments and vestibular function testing. 

Mei-Ling Chen, M.A., CCC/A, Staff Audiologist

Mei-Ling Chen received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degree from the University of Maryland at College Park.  Ms. Chen is currently a doctoral candidate at the Univerity of Maryland, College Park.  She completed her Clinical Fellowship Year at St. Anges Hospital and was employed there for five years.  She came to GMBC Otolaryngology Center of Excellence: Audiology Division in November 2007.  Ms. Chen holds membership in local and national professional associations.  Her special interests include vestibular function testing.
