Comprehensive Obesity Management Program (C.O.M.P)Welcome to the Comprehensive Obesity Management Program (COMP) at GBMC. We are a surgical weight-loss program located in Towson, MD. COMP has been in practice since 2004 and has been recognized as an American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMB) "Center of Excellence." This designation recognizes obesity treatment programs that are comprehensive in nature and demonstrate a track record of positive outcomes in bariatric surgery.

ASMBS Center of Excellence designation indicates that this program has met rigorous criteria for service standards and follows the best practices as defined by experts in the field of bariatric surgery. To earn the Center of Excellence designation, GBMC and COMP had to:

  • Document at least 125 bariatric surgery cases in a 12-month period (we average 300 per year)
  • An extensive site review including: facilitiates, clinical care and patient outcomes

Our program provides a multidisciplinary approach for the treatment of obesity. Including:

  • Patient education both individually and in groups session
  • Full preoperative evaluation of each patient's mental and physical health
  • Coordination of care
  • Assistance with insurance issues
  • Post-operative support groups in order to help ensure patient success.

You must attend a session before scheduling a visit to see the doctor.Register for a free seminar held by one of our surgeons to learn more about our surgical options to treat obesity. These sessions are held on select Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the GBMC campus.
