Harold (Hal) J. Tucker, M.D began serving as chief of staff at Greater Baltimore Medical center in February 2010 following five years as vice chief of staff. A gastroenterologist in private practice, Dr. Tucker has been a member of the GBMC medical staff since 1981.
Dr. Tucker's responsibilities include serving as liaison between approximately 1,200 physicians with GBMC privileges and the hospital administration; supervising medical committees and overseeing credentialing, quality assurance, disciplinary action and strategic planning. He has served as chairman of GBMC's Credentials Committee for 10 years.
Dr. Tucker is a native of Baltimore, where he still resides. Board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine, he received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Tucker also attended the University of Pennsylvania for specialty training in gastrointestinal medicine and spent six years at Johns Hopkins Bayview teaching GI fellows, medical residents and students.
