Mindy ShifflettMindy Shifflett
Manager, Oncology Support Services


Mindy is a graduate of Towson University where she earned a bachelors degree in Health Sciences. Mindy's patient support experience and expertise, as well as her collaborative partnerships with outside cancer support agencies, will greatly assist GBMC's cancer program in fulfilling its mission of exceptional patient care.


Kelly Anderson, MSW, LCSW-CKelly Anderson, MSW, LCSW-C
Oncology Social Worker


Kelly is an oncology social worker for GBMC's Oncology Support Services Center. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Towson University, and her Masters of Social Work Degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. She assesses psychosocial needs of cancer patients and their families, and initiates referrals to community resources on their behalf. She also provides individual and family counseling to assist patients and their families in coping with the emotional, social, and financial stresses of their illness.

Michele Better, MSW, LCSW-CMichele Better, MSW, LCSW-C
Oncology Social Worker


Michele is an oncology social worker for GBMC's Oncology Support Services program. She received her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Masters of Social Work from the University of Maryland. She assesses psychosocial needs of cancer patients and their families, and initiates referrals to community resources on their behalf. She also provides individual and family counseling to assist patients and their families in coping with the emotional, social, and financial stresses of their illness.

Felicity Kirby, RNFelicity Kirby, RN
Survivorship Coordinator


Felicity works as GBMC's Survivorship Coordinator. She helps patients and families better understand and prepare for life after cancer treatment and assists with any challenges they face during this transition. Felicity received her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Allegany Community College of Maryland and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland.

Laura ScheinLaura Schein
Community Outreach Coordinator


Laura is the Community Outreach Coordinator for Oncology Support Services. She received her Associates Degree from Harford Community College in General Studies, and her Bachelor's Degree in Health Education from Towson University. She's charged with the planning and operation of the GBMC Community Cancer Screening Programs, planning the Oncology Lunch and Learn Program for GBMC employees, running the monthly Look Good, Feel Better seminars for women undergoing cancer treatment, and leading fundraisers for an array of nationally recognized cancer awareness organizations.

Sarah JaqueSarah Jaque
Administrative Assistant


Sarah is the Administrative Assistant to the Manager of Oncology Support Services. She attended Catonsville Community College, majoring in General Studies. In her role as Administrative Assistant, she registers and provides information on patient support groups, triages the program's phone calls, assists in the coordination of the Annual Cancer Survivor's Celebration, and compiles monthly statistics.

Alissa LazzatiAlissa Lazzati
Patient Navigator


Alissa is the Patient Resource Navigator at the Sandra & Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute at GBMC. She is a graduate of Towson University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management and received a minor in Business Administration. Her role is to help patients and their loved ones access and utilize resources available to help them cope with their diagnosis and associated challenges.
