Liz Dumont is passionate about helping her clients discover the amazing rewards associated with an active lifestyle! Liz personally lost over 120 pounds since 1993 and has kept it off. She understands first-hand the unique challenges associated with staying committed to exercise. Liz Dumont has over 18 years of experience assisting clients with successfully adopting and maintaining active lifestyles that result in permanent weight loss. In addition to working exclusively with the bariatric population for the past three years, Liz's fitness career has included coaching and mentoring hundreds of clients, designing and running weight loss programs, teaching a variety of group exercise class formats, classroom instruction, and delivering seminars and presentations on lifestyle modification topics. Liz developed Bariatric Boot Camp to assist people who stand to benefit the most from embracing a healthy, active lifestyle. "I remember how difficult it was for me to get started with exercise. I literally began taking step aerobics classes in my big t-shirt with other participants who were obviously super-fit. I soon discovered, however, that the physical muscle I built gave me emotional muscle which helped me in all areas of my life. I am so excited to have this opportunity to work with GBMC and the Comprehensive Obesity Management Program! GBMC does a fantastic job of supporting their patients. I greatly look forward to providing the exercise coaching and instruction services through Bariatric Boot Camp. My goal is to help provide the bariatric patient with the support and services they need to succeed with long-term weight loss and to discover their own personal strength! For more informatino check out the Bariatric Boot Camp.

COMP's nurse practitioners see patients for follow-up visits, post-operative visits and band-adjustment visits.
Rebecca Myrowitz, MHS, RD, LDN
Shadi Fattah, RD, LDN
COMP dieticians meet with patients during their first visit to develop necessary dietary plans. Many insurance companies require 3 to 6-months of consecutive weight loss counseling/nutrition visits. While nutritional counseling is a requirement for the insurance companies, it is also the "backbone" of success for bariatric surgery patients. Through the dieticians, patients learn various principles of nutrition before bariatric surgery so that they are better prepared to achieve and maintain weight loss after surgery.
Melissa Frey, RN
Melissa reviews clinical test results with providers to ensure that nothing is abnormal. She also teaches COMP's PREP class, which is taken about two weeks prior to surgery, and covers what to expect the day of surgery and what to expect upon waking up from the procedure.
COMP's medical assistants are responsible for taking vital signs at each of visit. They work closely with the providers in setting up surgery dates, scheduling with the operating room and handling all of the necessary paperwork with the hospital and patients' employers.
COMP's Administrative Team assists patients with appointments, copays, authorizations, pre-certifications and registration paperwork. The financial coordinator contacts patients' insurance companies prior to their initial appointment to verify and understand each individual's bariatric surgery coverage.
