Jenny Coldiron joined GBMC HealthCare in May 2011 in a dual role as Vice President of Development and President of the GBMC Foundation and serves as a member of the organization’s Executive Team.
Coldiron, who has 20 years of philanthropy experience, is responsible for overseeing philanthropic activities for the healthcare system. The GBMC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and raises $7 – 9 million per year via cash, pledges, appreciated assets, and planned gifts from grateful patients and other friends of the hospital, as well as grants from corporations and private foundations, to support GBMC HealthCare. The Foundation organizes several annual fundraising events, including the GBMC Golf Classic, Father's Day 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk, and Perspective In Medicine dinners, and benefits from the annual Legacy Chase at Shawan Downs.
Coldiron has extensive experience with major gift fundraising, capital campaigns, corporate development and special event management. Most recently, Coldiron worked for the American Cancer Society’s South Atlantic Division, where she served as vice president of campaign development (2005 – 2011), director of distinguished gifts (2002 – 2004), corporate relations director (2000 – 2002) and income development manager (1996 -2000). Among her accomplishments with ACS, Coldiron was instrumental in raising $10 million to support a group of Patient Resource Navigation positions for the Cancer Resource Network – one of these navigators is assigned to GBMC’s Sandra & Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute.
Coldiron also has helped secure several individual gifts in excess of $1 million and has completed several capital building expansion campaigns. Prior to her positions with ACS Coldiron worked in philanthropy for the Maryland chapters of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and the Leukemia Society of America.
