Joining GBMC in August 2013 as Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Ms. Townsend has considerable experience as an Information Technology Executive in multi-hospital and integrated healthcare enterprises. She comes to GBMC from the Eastern Wisconsin Division of the Hospital Sisters Health System in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she served as Chief Information Officer for five years. Previously, she held positions at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston, Wisconsin and at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
At GBMC, Ms. Townsend’s responsibilities include operational and fiscal oversight of the software development department supporting all hospital and faculty practice computer systems; and managing an annual software budget of in excess of one million dollars.
Ms. Townsend holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Administration from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and a Master of Science degree in Medical Informatics from the Milwaukee School of Engineering/Medical College of Wisconsin.

Also, I was moved by the vision phrase, which closely aligns with my own personal belief in providing the kind of care to everyone that I would want for my own family.”
