Our Team - The Department of Ophthalmology at GBMC
The full-time staff at GBMC includes Drs. C. P. Wilkinson, Mary Louise Collins, Vivian Rismondo and Allison Jensen. In addition, many attending faculty members evaluate patients and perform procedures in the Eye Clinic. Resident physicians of the Johns Hopkins, Sinai, and GBMC Resident Training Program in Ophthalmology, also examine and treat patients under the direct supervision of the attending faculty.
Dr. Wilkinson is the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology and a specialist in vitreo-retinal surgery, he also specializes in the treatment of retinal diseases and disorders. Dr. Wilkinson is the author of numerous textbooks and articles in his specialty as well as a frequent lecturer.
Dr. Collins is the Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. She provides comprehensive ophthalmic care and surgery for the pediatric patient including special interest in amblyopia, lacrimal disorders and pediatric and adult strabismus. Dr. Collins is the Residency Program Director and also works with students at the Maryland School for the Blind.
Dr. Rismondo is the Director of Neuro-Ophthalmology, specializing in a wide range of neurologic disorders related to the visual pathway and ocular motor system.
Allison Jensen is a board certified ophthalmologist and completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. She specializes in comprehensive ophthalmic care for pediatric and adolescent patients including routine eye exams, amblyopia "lazy eye", strabismus "eye misalignment", lacrimal disorders and retinopathy of prematurity. In addition, she treats adults with strabismus and diplopia.
Dr. Kathuria is board certified and has more than 17 years of clinical experience. He was formerly on the faculty at the University of Maryland Department of Ophthalmology, where he was also the Director of the Residency Program. He is an active fellow of the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Kathuria is accepting new patients and participates in most insurance plans.
Dr. Pramanik is the founder of Mid Atlantic Eye Consultants, a practice limited to Cornea / External Disease and Refractive Surgery. He is on the staff of the GBMC Department of Ophthalmology and an Assistant Professor of Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins. He has a strong research interest in international ophthalmology and social entrepreneurship. He has worked with the Aravind and Vitalla Eye Hospitals in India to expand their corneal transplant programs. He is enjoys traveling on medical missions with residents and fellows to expose them to the opportunities of international collaboration.

Dr. Mc Ginn received her training at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She currently serves as the Co-president and Chairman of the Maryland Society for Sight. In addition to performing routine vision examinations, she provides the full range of contact lens services, to include spherical lenses, toric lenses for astigmatism, and rigid gas permeable lenses, including the difficult fittings required for keratoconnus patients.
