The Richard E. Hoover Rehabilitation Services for Low Vision and Blindness is a unique program dedicated to helping people with low vision and blindness resume active, satisfying more independent lives.  Hoover Services staff members work directly with visually impaired individuals to determine which devices and techniques will m them meet their personal goals.

What is Low Vision?

Low Vision generally mans a visual condition that cannot be corrected by conventional eyeglasses, contact lenses or surgery.  The World Health Organization recognizes low vision for those individuals who have vision loss at a level worse then 20/60 in their best correctable eye or severe loss of peripheral vision. All of use vision to interpret everything in our daily lives. Therefore, low vision impacts all aspects of a person's ability to perform activities of daily living.
