Eric Melchior joined the executive staff of GBMC HealthCare in March 2000 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and serves as a member of the GBMC HealthCare Executive Team.
Prior to joining GBMC, Mr. Melchior served as Vice President of Finance for Meridian Health System, Inc. of Wall, New Jersey, encompassing 1,528 inpatient beds, two long-term care facilities (234 beds), three home care organizations, and associated facilities. He also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Riverview Health Care Services Corporation of Red Bank, New Jersey, directing all financial activities of the health system, including those of a 469 bed general acute care hospital and related continuum of care facilities.
From 1989 to 1993, Mr. Melchior served as Corporate Senior Vice President of Essex Valley Healthcare, Inc. in East Orange, New Jersey. Prior to 1989, Mr. Melchior served as a senior vice president, chief financial officer, treasurer and controller of a healthcare consulting firm, a multi-hospital system and a large teaching hospital.
Mr. Melchior holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting/economics from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey and a master's degree in public administration from Farleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford, New Jersey.
Mr. Melchior's memberships and affiliations include: Healthcare Financial Management Association, Maryland Hospital Association Financial Conditions Work Group, and the All Payer Payment System Value Work Group. He is currently a board member of the Maryland Kidney Stone Center, Greater Baltimore Diagnostic Imaging Partnership, Magnetic Imaging of Baltimore, GBMC Agency, Inc. and Diversified Health Services. He also serves as a Director in the Maryland Chapter of the Health Care Financial Management Association.
Mr. Melchior was a former member of the following boards: Board of Trustees Central Jersey Blood Center, Board of Trustees Extended Medical Care Corporation, Board of Trustees Shore Rehabilitation Institute, Board of Trustees Home Care Resources and New Jersey Health Care Financial Management Association.
