The student will undergo a complete physical examination prior to beginning the program through the Employee Health Center. If a student does NOT meet the hospital's health requirements, he/she will not be allowed to begin the program.
The probationary period extends for the first six months of the program. The School of Radiography reserves the right to terminate at any time, any student who does not satisfy the scholastic or clinical requirements of the school's standards of personal and professional behavior or personal suitability for Radiologic Technology.
A total of 30 days (15 per year) are granted during the educational program. Excessive use or abuse of absent time is grounds for dismissal from the program.
The School of Radiography at Greater Baltimore Medical Center does not have living accommodations nor are there any such arrangements provided.
Meals are available at the student's expense in the hospital cafeteria or the student may wish to bring his own lunch.
Parking is available on an assigned lot for which permit stickers are given by the Security Department. There is no fee for parking at GBMC. There may be parking fees at other facilities. All parking regulations must be strictly observed.
All students are required to wear regulation uniforms of the School. The required uniforms are purchased independently from a specified company. Specific details are given upon acceptance.
A standard list of textbooks is required. These are also purchased independently prior to the beginning of the program.
The time spent in the program is based on a forty (40) hour week, eight (8) hours per day. The program is continuous throughout the year. Students will be scheduled for a limited amount of evenings. Due to the nature of the program, we cannot accommodate part-time students. The School observes nine (9) holidays per year.

After submitting a letter to the school, it will be determined if the student is eligible for a refund at the following rate:
- Prior to the first day of class the refund is 100%
- Less than 10% the refund is 90%
- 10% up to but not including 20% the refund is 80%
- 20% up to but not including 30% the refund is 60%
- 30% up to but not including 40% the refund is 40%
- 40% up to 50% the refund is 20%
- More than 50% there is no refund
A leave of absence may be granted for a specific reason, including pregnancy, by submitting a written request to the faculty. Loss of time from an authorized leave of absence must be made up prior to receiving a certificate.
The School will award a certificate in Radiography to each student who satisfactorily completes the required course of study. An application and application fee ($200.00) is filed by the student for the examination of certification offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists which is the national examining board. Upon successful completion of this examination, the graduate then becomes a fully certified and registered technologist. Upon successfully passing the national examination, the graduate may apply for a Maryland State Certification.
Effective January 1, 2015, The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists will require that all individuals have a minimum of an associate degree in order to sit for the national certification examination. The degree need not be in radiologic science.
