Lauren A. Schnaper, MD, FACS Lauren A. Schnaper, MD, FACS is Director of the GBMC Sandra and Malcolm Berman Comprehensive Breast Care Center and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Schnaper is nationally recognized for her work specializing in benign and malignant diseases of the breast. In addition to direct patient care, she is active in national clinical research and has chaired the Breast Surgery Subcommittee of the Cancer and Leukemia Group B, a nationwide NCI-sponsored cooperative clinical trials group. Her clinical research focuses on breast cancer in the elderly and her basic sciences research focuses on circulating proteins in breast cancer.

Dr. Schnaper has been honored by many community groups and was designated as one of Maryland's Top 100 Women in 2010.

Sara Fogarty, DO Dr. Fogarty, DO, earned her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. She completed a general surgery residency at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, where she served as chief resident from 2012-2013. She then completed a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Women & Infants Hospital, Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island graduating in 2014. She is board certified in General Surgery.

Dr. Fogarty specializes in all aspects of breast disease, both benign and malignant. She has a special interest in post-mastectomy pain, using trigger point injection techniques taught during her osteopathic training. She is also interested in fertility preservation in pre-menopausal cancer. She works closely with community organizations such as American Cancer Society, Hopewell, Susan G. Komen, Red Devils, Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, and others to educate the public regarding breast screening, risk factors, and latest advances in breast cancer treatment

Dr. Fogarty is currently a member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBS) and the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO).

H. Alexander Munitz, MD H. Alexander Munitz, MD is Director of the Pavilion Imaging Center and the Imaging division of the Comprehensive Breast Care Center. Dr. Munitz has championed the rapid transition from screening mammography through diagnostic mammography to biopsy, frequently within 24 hours. He believes that by offering immediate biopsy to patients with significant findings on mammography and ultrasound, anxiety can be greatly reduced. A member of Advanced Radiology, Dr. Munitz heads a core group of five radiologists specializing in breast diagnosis and intervention.

Judy M. Destouet, MD Judy M. Destouet, MD, a nationally recognized specialist in breast imaging, is Chief of Mammography for Advanced Radiology, P.A. She chairs the Mammography Accreditation Committee which, along with the FDA, oversees and develops standards for mammography practice throughout the country. Dr. Destouet is an honorary Fellow of the American College of Radiology and past President of the American Association for Women Radiologists.

Sheri Slezak, MD, FACS Sheri Slezak, MD, FACS is a plastic surgeon who specializes in breast reconstruction after cancer surgery, breast reduction, and breast augmentation. She practices at GBMC and at the University of Maryland Medical System where she is on the fulltime faculty as an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery. She is a director of the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and chairs many of their committees on plastic surgery education.

Sara Vieweg Rosen, MD Sara Vieweg Rosen, MD is the psychiatrist at the Comprehensive Breast Care Center, helping patients cope with the mental and emotional effects of their illness. Both medications and therapy may be used to treat anxiety and depression that can result from the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Dr. Rosen's services are provided without cost to patients and their families, and are funded by a grant from the Shusterman Family Foundation.

Barbara Raksin, RN Barbara Raksin, RN has dedicated more than 20 years of her career to the care and education of breast cancer patients and survivors. As part of the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Comprehensive Breast Care Center, she serves as a patient advocate and works to further awareness of better breast health. Ms. Raksin is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Maryland Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Breast Cancer Foundation.

Angela Murrell, CRNPAngela Murrell, CRNP

Angela is a nurse practitioner who provides care for women with benign breast diseases as well as follow-up care for cancer patients via a survivorship clinic. Angela earned her Masters in Nursing with a focus in oncology from Yale University in 2009. She joined the Sandra & Malcolm Comprehensive Breast Care Center in 2012.
