After Treatment

After Treatment

Now that you have made it through the diagnosis and treatment stage, you may think the hardest part is over.  For many patients this period of recovery and transition back into daily routine is difficult. One of the most common, and understandable, fears is that the cancer will come back. These feelings often lead to anxiety and depression.  Usually these emotions subside within months. Oncology Support Services may be reached at 443-849-2961 and is here to help you return to everyday life.

Here are several suggestions to assist you in returning to everyday life after cancer treatment:

  • Join a support group of other patients facing the same issues
  • Keep a Survivor's Health Journal both physical and emotional so you are prepared for your appointments
  • Keep complete records in practical and legal areas of your life
  • Maintain complete records of your treatments and medical history after treatment
