Program Mission & Goals

Radiologic Technology is a profession involved with both medicine and people. The Radiographer works with the physician performing radiologic examinations of the patient's body. X-rays are used in the detection of disease or defects in bones, tissue, and organs. Therefore, it is essential that Radiographers have a thorough understanding of the human body, technical knowledge of radiologic procedures and equipment, and patient care skills to meet the needs of our patients.

The mission of the School of Radiography is to provide quality instruction, both academic and clinical in order to graduate competent entry-level radiographers.

The goals of the program are:

  1. To provide the healthcare community with competent graduates.
  2. To graduate students who have successfully completed the program.
  3. To produce graduates who will be clinically competent.
  4. To produce students who will demonstrate ethical behaviors, and sound professional judgment.
  5. To produce students who will demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills in the academic setting and in clinical practice.

The goals of the School of Radiography are based on the Standards for an Accredited Educational Program in Radiologic Sciences. A copy of these standards is available in the School office for applicant review at any time.
