Douglas G. Smith
President, GBMC Foundation

Douglas Smith has been President of the GBMC Foundation for the past eleven years and in healthcare fund-raising for 32 years.  He is a graduate of Ohio University and holds a Masters Degree from Carnegie Mellon University.  A Fellow in the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy and a Certified Fund Raising Executive, Mr. Smith has overall supervisory responsibility for the Foundation staff.  Mr. Smith’s major areas of focus include capital campaigns, major gifts and board relations.  

Carolyn Insley
Executive Assistant

As executive secretary to the President of the Foundation, Carolyn is a familiar voice to many GBMC friends and supporters.  Carolyn has been with the Foundation for ten years and works closely with the Foundation’s Board of Directors. 

Shannon Brun 
Development Assistant

Shannon joined the Foundation staff in September 2007. She is our front office support and assists with special events. Shannon is a recent graduate of Towson University (BA) and was an intern in GBMC's Marketing Department earlier this year.

Jamie Lynch
Director of Corporations, Foundations & Government Relations

Jamie Lynch works to expand public and private support to fulfill the mission of GBMC. A graduate of The University of Delaware (BA) and Georgetown University (MA), Jamie has 17 years experience in fundraising and government relations.

John Jeppi
Director of Gift Planning

As Director of Gift Planning, John, works with donors wishing to leave legacy gifts to GBMC which include bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts and IRA, 401(k) and life insurance beneficiary designations. He came to GBMC from the Planned Giving Services Department of Mercantile-Safe Deposit & Trust Company’s Investment and Wealth Management Division where he served as client advisor to more than 60 regional and national charities. A graduate of Loyola College (BA) and Johns Hopkins University (MBA and MSB), John is past President and current Board member of the Chesapeake Planned Giving Council and is a member of the Baltimore Estate Planning Council. He has also served on the Planned Giving Advisory Board of the United Way of Central Maryland

Janet Farr
Director of Development

As Director of Development, Janet, manages the Foundation’s fundraising annual campaigns and coordinates stewardship and donor appreciation events.  Janet received her B.A. and M.A. from the University of Baltimore and has worked as a development manager at non-profits in Baltimore and Pennsylvania.

Rachel Ladenson
Director of Major Gifts
 

Rachel works with grateful patients and other individuals wishing to make significant gifts to support GBMC.  With a special interest in healthcare fundraising, she came to GBMC after working as Director of Development for The Brady Urological Institute at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Rachel has also worked in higher education fundraising for Donnelly College and University of Saint Mary both in Kansas.  She is a graduate of Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri and holds a Maters Degree from University of Saint Mary.    

Marisa Morris
Donor Services Coordinator

Marisa Morris has worked for GBMC Healthcare for 18 years managing the Foundation's database, compiling reports, donor recognition materials, and plaques throughout the hospital. She also makes sure all donations are allocated according to the donor's wishes. Marisa received her AA degree from the Community College of Baltimore in Computer Science/Data Processing and her BA from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.

Jill Robins
Special Events Coordinator

Jill Robins coordinates the Father's Day 5K and 1.5 Mile Fun Ru, GBMC Golf Classib, and the Mercedes-Benz Raffle affiliated with the Legacy Chase at Shawan Downs. She also plans any additional special events for the Foundation.
