Donor Recognition
($250,000+)
The GBMC Foundation has created a giving society to recognize those whose philanthropy to GBMC HealthCare and Gilchrist Hospice Care places them at the vanguard of supporters. At an inaugural dinner in June 2001, twenty-five individuals, corporations and foundations were inducted into the Joseph S. Keelty Society for supporting GBMC with cumulative gifts of $250,000 or more. Chief among those honored that evening was the Society's namesake, a distinguished Baltimore businessman and philanthropist, who has provided outstanding leadership and exceptionally generous support to GBMC. In 2004, 13 more individuals, corporations and foundations were inducted into the society.

The William A. & Jarnetta Kroh Society was formed in 2004 to recognize the extraordinary support of Bill and Jarnetta Kroh as well as donors of $10,000 or more annually. Donors at this level of giving are also members of the Virginia Sherwood Council and receive the benefits of the VSC: an annual pass for complimentary parking when visiting GBMC, prominent listing in the GBMC Foundation's Annual Report and on the Annual Giving Plaque, newsletters and updates from the GBMC Foundation President and are invited to the Annual Recognition Dinner held each October and the Annual Giving Plaque Dedication and Reception held each Winter.

Virginia Barrett Sherwood dedicated years of service to the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. In 1991, a council was established to recognize the extraordinary generosity of GBMC's major benefactors. In tribute to the impressive dedication of Mrs. Sherwood, it was named in her honor.
The Virginia Sherwood Council is open to any individual who contributes $2,500 or more in a calendar year. Benefits of membership include an annual donor recognition reception held each October, an annual giving plaque dedication and reception held each winter, an annual pass for complimentary parking when visiting GBMC, newsletters and updates from the GBMC Foundation President, prominent listing in the GBMC Foundation's Annual Report and invitations to GBMC events.

Eleanor Rosenberg was a strong supporter of the arts, education, and health care in the Baltimore community and was a long-standing donor to Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) until her death earlier this year. The GBMC Foundation has created the Eleanor Rosenberg Society to honor her memory and support nursing education.
The Society is an annual giving club for donors who make gifts of $500 or more to the GBMC Foundation for the purpose of nursing education. “Donors who give to the Eleanor Rosenberg Society have the comfort of knowing that their philanthropy will help nurses at GBMC and, ultimately, help patients cared for by those nurses,” says Douglas G. Smith, president of the GBMC Foundation and vice president for Development. “They will know that they are helping to alleviate the shortage of nurses in the region by encouraging young people to choose nursing as a career.”
Donors may give cash, stock, or make a gift with a credit card. Those who make gifts at this level will have their name displayed on the GBMC Founder's Circle plaque that hangs near the hospital's dining hall.
($250-$999)
Created in 2000, the GBMC Founder's Club recognizes the generosity of hospital contributors who donate $250-$999 annually. Founder's Club members are listed in the GBMC Foundation's Annual Report, receive one complimentary parking pass, receive newsletters and updates from the medical center and will also be included on the GBMC Founder's Club donor plaque.
Mrs. Yaggy made the first gift to start a capital fund to purchase land and create a new suburban hospital. Her efforts, and the efforts of those who followed her, created the hospital we now know as Greater Baltimore Medical Center. The Elizabeth Duncan Yaggy Society recognizes individuals who provide for the GBMC Foundation in their wills, through insurance, through testamentary trusts, or through other gift planning arrangements. Members of the Yaggy Society receive special mailings and invitations to events at GBMC.
