MILDRED MINDELL CANCER FOUNDATION’S
GBMC Cancer Center physicians Dr. Marshall A. Levine, Dr. John R. Saunders, Jr. and Dr. Eva S. Zinreich were honored as “Humanitarians of the Year” on May 2nd at Martins West by the Mildred Mindell Cancer Foundation for their outstanding work in the fight against cancer.
A check for $52,500, from the proceeds of the Mildred Mindell Cancer Foundation “Casino Night”, was presented to GBMC’s Head & Neck Cancer Service. This generous contribution will be used toward the purchase of a transnasal esophagoscopy. This innovative new equipment will aid in the diagnosis and treatment of swallowing disorders, esophageal narrowing and cancers in the esophagus and larynx.
The Mildred Mindell Cancer Foundation has raised over $2,900,000 in its 47 years of fundraising and philanthropy. The funds raised by this energetic and devoted group of volunteers has been invaluable to local organizations and hospitals which provide cancer patients with direct patient services and treatment; toward the purchase of cutting edge equipment for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation; and for research and education. Everyone at GBMC HealthCare was thrilled that our extraordinary physicians, and the head and neck service, were honored by the Mildred Mindell Cancer Foundation.
