In Memory of Caroline Dawson Heller
Doctors and staff of The Maryland Pediatric Group, L.L.C. located off Falls Road in Lutherville are helping to memorialize Caroline Dawson Heller who passed away after a struggle with cancer.
Caroline was a vibrant and devoted teacher and coach at the Garrison Forest School before she lost her four-year fight against melanoma.
In 2000, Caroline’s parents, Jim and Mary Louise Dawson, set up a memorial fund in Caroline’s name that would enhance the daily lives of the oncology staff. With seed money from Caroline’s parents, the “Caroline Dawson Heller Memorial Fund” continues to grow through contributions from friends, family and the local community. As an endowment fund, the income that is generated from gifts goes to education, uniforms and even a badly-needed refrigerator for nurses and staff in the GBMC Oncology Program.
For the past two years, many year-end donations have come from Mary Louise’s co-workers at The Maryland Pediatric Group in honor of Saul D. Roskes, M.D., James E. Fragetta, M.D., Barbara A. Duffy, M.D., Alan M. Lake, M.D., Robert A. Wood, M.D., Dennis L. Headings, M.D., Kenneth C. Schuberth, M.D., Kirsten M. Brinkmann, M.D., Angel R. LaRosa, M.D.
