Dr. Blagowidow received her M.D. degree from Cornell University Medical College, NY. Her residency training was in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA. Following her residency, Dr. Blagowidow undertook specialty training as a Fellow in Reproductive Genetics and Human Genetics, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and in the Division of Human Genetics of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
She has held faculty appointments as Assistant Professor in the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Hahnemann University (now the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University) and Temple University Medical College.
Previously, Dr. Blagowidow was Assistant Director of the Division of Perinatology and Reproductive Genetics in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Upland, PA, holding simultaneous appointments as Director of the Laboratory of Clinical Cytogenetics, attending physician in the Department of Pediatrics, and Director of Perinatal Genetics. She was also a consulting physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Chester, PA, County Hospital.
Dr. Blagowidow is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Board of Medical Genetics, certified in both clinical genetics and clinical cytogenetics. She is also a Founding Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and a member of the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.
Her clinical specialties include assessment of pregnancy by ultrasound including doppler flow and by invasive testing including CVS, amniocentesis, and PUBS. In addition, her interests include genetic counseling and evaluation of expectant parents and pediatric patients.
