The Harvey Institute for Human Genetics, named for the late Mr. and Mrs. F. Barton Harvey, Jr., was endowed in June, 1997. The Institute provides integrated genetic services through a staff that includes physicians, geneticists, genetic counselors, sonographers, and laboratory technologists with expertise in clinical, pediatric, reproductive, and laboratory genetics. All services are housed on the 2nd Level of GBMC Hospital. We also provide genetic education to a variety of audiences, including healthcare professionals and the lay public. To deliver world-class diagnostic capabilities, access to state-of-the-art genetic testing, counseling, patient management, and education. - Recognize that management of genetic disease involves meeting the needs of entire families as well as individual patients. Provide genetic expertise to meet the diagnostic and clinical needs of referring physicians, patients, and the community at large.
