At the Joint Center we believe that the better educated our community is about musculoskeletal diseases, the better outcomes they will have in caring for themselves. Visit our Greater Information site and read about topics such as arthritis and rheumatic disease, joint replacement surgery, and orthopedic surgery. Here you will find in greater detail the types of diagnostics procedures and treatment available. GBMC provides a wide array of conservative and surgical treatment for joint and spine disorders.
If you schedule for surgery with a Joint Center physician, you will have the opportunity to participate in a preoperative education and planning class. In class you will learn about the preoperative, surgical and postoperative process. We encourage family members to participate in the class and also to support the patient during recovery in the hospital and at home. The class is taught by our Nurse Coordinator. This is the same person that coordinates care in the hospital. It's nice to see familiar faces and to know who to contact when you have questions.
Please call 443-849-6261 if you are interested in attending one of our preoperative classes.
