Thank you for your support of the 2015 Legacy Chase at Shawan Downs. You certainly helped make not only the 15th year of our steeplechase, but also the 50th year of our healthcare system, a huge success! We hope you enjoyed the exciting steeplechase races, children's activities and scenic beauty of Shawan Downs, while also supporting healthcare services in your community.
With your help, this year we had an estimated 7,000 attendees, which consisted of individuals and families throughout Baltimore, members of the Land Preservation Trust and the steeplechase community, more than 100 GBMC employees, including physicians, volunteers and folks who just love a great day of racing.
Thanks to your support, GBMC raised $359,433 to establish our first Endowed Directorship in Medical Oncology in honor Gary I. Cohen, MD. Dr. Cohen is the first medical director of the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute, and this endowment will recognize his outstanding years of service to his patients as he retires at the end of this year. Endowment funds will directly supporting the Oncology Department and provide critical services and resources to support oncology patients and their families for many years to come.
We could share countless stories about the impact your support makes on providing the best care for patients. On behalf of all of these patients, as well as the staff of GBMC, thank you! We hope you had a great time and will Ride On with us in 2016!
