GBMC @ Eastpoint Expands
With Family Practice Physician

BALTIMORE – January 5, 2006 – Greater Baltimore Medical Center is expanding its satellite facility, GBMC at Eastpoint, with the addition of Sylvia Chang, M.D., a board-certified family practice physician.  Dr. Chang began serving patients at GBMC’s facility in the Eastpoint Mall this week.

“I believe strongly in community-based medicine, and am looking forward to providing medical care for residents of the Eastpoint area,” said Dr. Chang, who recently relocated to Baltimore from Iowa.

Dr. Chang’s practice is located in Suite 305, adjacent to GBMC’s existing suite.  The office can be reached at 410-288-4242. Dr. Chang will see patients on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. and welcomes children and adults of all ages for well care, acute illness and chronic medical problems.

Dr. Chang has experience in inner city and rural settings and has practiced medicine in Pittsburgh and in Iowa, where she served as chief of the medical staff at a local hospital.  She completed medical school at the University of Pittsburgh and a family practice residency at St. Margaret Hospital, also in Pittsburgh.

GBMC first opened a satellite facility in Eastpoint Mall in July 2004.  Currently, George N. Karkar, M.D., F.A.C.P, board certified in internal medicine, and Kamal Alexander Hamod, M.D., M.P.H, an OB/GYN with a special interest in minimally invasive surgeries and vulvar diseases, vulvar pain and dyspareunia, practice in Suite 303.
