GBMC Names Ellicott City Man As Director of Compensation and Benefits
BALTIMORE, Md. – October 5, 2007 – Craig Clive, CCP, GRP, SPHR, a veteran human resources professional with more than three decades experience, has been named director of compensation and benefits at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where he will have responsibility for managing the hospital’s overall compensation and benefits budget. A resident of Ellicott City, Md., Clive previously served as a consultant for GBMC in the role of senior compensation analyst.
“I joined GBMC to be a part of the organization’s positive commitment to employee relations, and I plan to work with managers to evaluate employee pay levels against performance and to ensure our compensation and benefits programs are competitive and meet our employees’ needs,” Clive said. GBMC is one of the Baltimore region’s largest private sector employers, with approximately 2,200 fulltime equivalent (FTE) positions.
Clive has extensive experience with compensation evaluation, individual and team incentives, salary structure development, salary surveys and performance reward systems.
Clive has previously served as principal of Baylights Compensation Consulting LLC; vice president, U.S. compensation with Alexander & Alexander, Inc.; and manager, corporate compensation with TRW, Inc. He has also held positions with TRW Fastners Division, Continental Resources, Mech-E1 Industries, Compugraphic Corporation, High Voltage Engineering Corporation and MITRE Corporation.
Clive is also an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore and McDaniel College and an instructor with WorldatWork. He earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Northeastern University and a master’s in business administration from Babson College. Clive also served as a first lieutenant in the United States Army Airborne Infantry Special Forces.
Clive is a member of several professional organizations, including WorldatWork, Society for Human Resource Management and the Washington Area Compensation and Benefits Association.
