GBMC Names New Director of Volunteer Services

BALTIMORE, Md. –  May 8, 2007 –  Mary Pat  Marzullo, a resident of Glen Arm, Md., has been promoted to director of volunteer services at Greater Baltimore Medical Center.  Marzullo brings nine years of volunteer management experience to the position, including serving the past two years as volunteer services representative at GBMC.

“I feel fortunate to work with such dedicated volunteers and staff and look forward to the opportunity of taking the GBMC volunteer program to an even higher level and increasing our fundraising accomplishments,” Marzullo said.

Marzullo’s responsibilities will include directing the volunteer services programs, which includes more than 600 volunteers on the GBMC hospital campus; and providing support to the Volunteer Auxiliary Board, which manages various fundraising initiatives.

“Mary Pat has developed critical relationships and a comprehensive understanding of the needs of volunteers and their abilities to assist GBMC, and she will be a strong asset in leading one of the hospital’s most critical assets,” said Wynee Hawk, GBMC’s vice president of external relations.

Marzullo is a member of the Maryland Healthcare Directors of Volunteer Services as well as the Maryland Council Directors of Volunteer Services, where she served on the board.  Previously, she has served as director of volunteer services at Keswick MultiCare Center and as coordinator of volunteers and fund development with Sarah’s House, a program that serves the homeless in Anne Arundel County.  Marzullo also owned her own award-winning video production company which worked both domestically and internationally.
