Names New Executive Director to Management Team

BALTIMORE, Md. –  April 14, 2008 – Greater Baltimore Medical Center has named Linda Rittelmann as executive director and chief operating officer of Greater Baltimore Medical Associates (GBMA), a group of more than 40  physician practices owned by GBMC.

Rittelmann will oversee all operational issues such as staffing, billing performance improvement, and budgeting for the GBMA practices. “I joined GBMC because of its reputation as a premier healthcare facility and its long standing commitment to the Maryland community that it serves,”Rittelmann said. “I look forward to building positive partnerships with area physicians that are mutually beneficial to the GBMC community.”

Rittelmann brings 17 years of executive healthcare experience in cardiovascular and orthopedic program management, capital project management, strategic planning, marketing, information systems applications, and managed care contracting.

Rittelmann has held many healthcare executive positions, including locally with Sinai Hospital and the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.  Rittelmann earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin, and both a Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh
