CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature)
For GBMC Staff only - id and password required. Indexes majority of English-language nursing journals including publications from state nursing associations , ANA and NLN publications, and primary journals from allied health disciplines.  Links to 21 GBMC-owned full-text nursing journals.  1982 to the present.  Updated monthly.  See list for titles

Cochrane Library Database (Ovid interface) 
For GBMC Staff only - id and password required. Includes the full text of the regularly updated systematic reviews of the effects of healthcare prepared by The Cochrane Collaboration. The Cochrane Collaboration is an international organization dedicated to preparing, maintaining, and promoting the accessibility of systematic reviews of the effects of healthcare interventions. The Cochrane library contains: Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews: Reviews and Protocols Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness Cochrane Controlled Trials Register. Updated quarterly.

 Journals@Ovid 
 For GBMC Staff only - id and password required. The Journals@Ovid database is an aggregate of medical journals from selected publishers and societies.  The GBMC Medical Library subscribes to 47 of these journals, which are linked to the MEDLINE and CINAHL databases to provide full-text access to articles.  See list for titles

GBMC staff should call  443-849-2530 for a personal log-in user id and password.
Provides access to over 30 medical texts, articles from more than 40 clinical journals, practice guidelines, drug information, 2,500 patient education handouts, CME and daily medical updates.


MEDLINE (Ovid interface) 
For GBMC Staff only - id and password required. The Medline database from the National Library of Medicine includes citations with abstracts from approximately 3,900 biomedical, dental and nursing journals.  Provides links to 47 full-text journals (Journals@Ovid) 1966 to the present.  This is an alternative to using PubMed to search Medline and some users may find this Ovid interface to Medline easier to use. PubMed/Medline
National Library of Medicine PubMed is the NLM's FREE search interface service that provides access to over 11 million citations in MEDLINE, PREMEDLINE, and other related databases. Some of the citations have links to full-text journals through participating publishers' web sites. Search features include a Related Articles option that provides single-click access to article citations topically related to any given citation in the database and a Limits option to restrict search retrieval. The PREMEDLINE citations in PubMed allow for current awareness searching. Coverage: 1966-present.
