Diabetes and its complications can be controlled with self-management skills including blood glucose monitoring and proper meal planning. The Geckle Diabetes & Nutrition Center at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center has nurses, dietitians and physician assistants trained in the intricacies of diabetes care. With outpatient and inpatient services, the Geckle Diabetes and Nutrition Center teaches self-management skills, instruction on insulin pumps and offers instruction on gestational diabetes.
