• Payment is required when registering in order to guarantee your place in the class.
• The Parent Education Registration/Payment Form is located on a secure server that uses encryption technology to protect information sent over the Internet.
• Any adult attending a Parent Education class that includes an OB tour must bring a Maryland State drivers license or valid photo Id. You will not be permitted to take the tour without proper ID.
• The classes that appear on the right column are currently available for registration. We make every effort to remove classes as soon as they are full. Please register only for available dates.You will be contacted if the class becomes over booked when the office is closed.

September 2008 Parent Education Classes Childbirth Education (Thursday) October 2 Location: Physicians Pavilion East Conference Center Date/Time: 09/02/2008 7:00 PM - 09/30/2008 9:30 PM We strongly reccomend the Pregnancy Information class prior to Childbirth Education. Although it is not mandatory we feel the topics discussed in Pregnancy Information will be invaluable during your postpartum recovery.     Parent Education Classes Childbirth Education (Tuesday) December 2 Location: Physicians Pavilion East Conference Center Date/Time: 09/02/2008 7:00 PM - 09/23/2008 9:30 PM We strongly reccomend the Pregnancy Information class prior to Childbirth Education. It is offered three times per month, Mondays or Wednesdays and is 2.5 hours in length. The course may be helpful to those who have already decided to breast feed or to those who are undecided re: feeding choice. The multiple benefits of breastfeeding are reviewed and common concerns are addressed.     Parent Education Classes Sibling Class Sept. 13 Location: OB Lobby Date/Time: 09/13/2008 10:00 AM - 09/13/2008 11:00 AM For expecting siblings ages 3-10. Topics include:preparation for baby, newborn characteristics and safe handling. A sibling video will be presented along with a craft project. A brief tour of the OB postpartum unit will be given at the end of the class. Children must be 3 or older to attend this class.     Parent Education Classes Breastfeeding (Sept. 17) Location: Physicians Pavilion East Conference Center Date/Time: 09/17/2008 7:00 PM - 09/17/2008 9:30 PM Certified lactation consultants teach this course. It is offered one Friday per month. The course is one, 2 hour session and includes lecture, video and hands-on guided practice.     Parent Education Classes Select Sitters Sept. 20 Location: Physicians Pavilion East Conference Center Date/Time: 09/20/2008 2:00 PM - 09/20/2008 6:00 PM A workshop for teens 12 years and up looking to develop responsible baby-sitting skills. Content includes: appropriate entertainment, infant care, responsibility, safety issues, pediatric CPR and first aid for choking.
