Breastfeeding (Sept. 8)
Location: Physicians Pavilion East Conference Center

Certified lactation consultants teach this course. It is offered three times per month, Mondays or Wednesdays and is 2.5 hours in length. The course may be helpful to those who have already decided to breast feed or to those who are undecided re: feeding choice. The multiple benefits of breastfeeding are reviewed and common concerns are addressed.

Sibling Class Sept. 13
Location: OB Lobby
Date/Time: 09/13/2008 10:00 AM - 09/13/2008 11:00 AM
For expecting siblings ages 3-10. Topics include:preparation for baby, newborn characteristics and safe handling. A sibling video will be presented along with a craft project. A brief tour of the OB postpartum unit will be given at the end of the class. Children must be 3 or older to attend this class.

Infant CPR(Friday Sept. 19)

This course is very popular during the pre and postnatal stage. It is offered one Friday per month. The course is one, 2 hour session and includes lecture, video and hands-on guided practice.

Select Sitters Sept. 20

A workshop for teens 12 years and up looking to develop responsible baby-sitting skills. Content includes: appropriate entertainment, infant care, responsibility, safety issues, pediatric CPR and first aid for choking.
