In an informal support group setting, these classes focus on concerns which evolve after baby comes home. Classes are held on Friday mornings and fathers are always welcome. Discussion periods usually include:
- Feeding: breast/bottle
- Adjusting to parenthood
- Crying and comforting
- Sleeping and eating schedules
- Child care
- Returning to work
This FREE support group is for mothers of newborn children (1-12 weeks old). The discussions focus on feeding your newborn, crying, comforting your newborn, baby products, family adjustments and postpartum recovery. For expectant mothers on bedrest. With just a simple phone call, expectant parents who are unable to attend classes, can obtain educational videotapes, books and brochures by mail. The preparation package includes a detailed DVD and workbooklet on what to expect in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum Recovery, Infant Care and Breastfeeding guidance. Please contact the Parent Education Department for our "Bedrest" package information and price.
For expectant siblings ages 3-10 years and their parents. This 1 hour class is usually taken one month before Mom's due date. Classes held on Saturday mornings.- Video and discussion: preparations for baby; how newborns look and behave; relating to baby in a safe manner
