School of Radiography

School of Radiography

The School of Radiography is a 23 continuous month certificate program. It is accredited by the Chicago-based Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology and approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

The curriculum provides instruction in:

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Radiation Physics
  • Osteology
  • Topographic Anatomy
  • Medical Terminology
  • Processing
  • Radiation Protection
  • Radiographic Positioning
  • Image Production & Evaluation
  • Radiographic Film Evaluation
  • Patient Care and other related courses.

Since clinical experience is a vital and integral part of the educational process, the student participates in a Clinical Competency Testing program. To enhance the students clinical education, the student will be required to travel to other facilities to participate in radiographic examinations. 

Effective January 1, 2015, The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists will require that all individuals have a minimum of an associate degree in order to sit for the national certification examination.  The degree need not be in radiologic science.
