Day of Surgery

What to Bring:

Bring your Pre-Surgical Assessment Form, x-rays, and paper work (informed consent) from your physician's office.
Please leave all valuables at home (jewelry, credit cards). There is a $1.50 charge for parking.
Wear loose comfortable clothing that will promote your comfort after surgery (i.e., button-down blouse for breast surgery; clothing that would fit over a cast; loose fitting dress for abdominal surgery).
If crutches are needed, bring with you the day of surgery.
Bring support garmets if ordered by your surgeon.
Children should bring their favorite doll, toy and/or blanket.

Surgery may be canceled if the following occur:

You do not have a ride home with a person of at least 18 years of age (if you are going home the same day as your surgery and have had anesthesia.)
Your Pre-Surgical Testing is not complete and your results are not at GBMC at least 48 hours prior to your surgery.
Food and fluid restrictions are not followed.
If you have a fever, cold, flu or are not feeling well (If you are not feeling well, please call your physician.
