Blood Pressure and Cholesterol: How Do They Affect My Body?
Kevin Ferentz, MD: Family Medicine
Kevin S. Ferentz, MD, is a family medicine physician within the GBMC at Owings Mills practice. Dr. Ferentz earned his medical degree at the State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo School of Medicine and completed his Family Medicine residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore where he was chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in faculty development and obstetrics at the University of Maryland Medical Center and St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Ferentz served on the faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine for 25 years where he held several positions including the Residency Director for the Department of Family Medicine. Most recently, Dr. Ferentz served as Chief Medical Officer for Baltimore Medical System, Inc. and as a site medical director at Chase-Brexton Health Services.

"Katie" became a member of the GBMC C.O.M.P. team in 2015. She was born and raised in Wilmington, DE. She received her BA degree in Dietetics from the University of Delaware, where she also completed her dietetic internship. Katie has always been interested in food and nutrition and enjoys running, yoga and weight training.

Don't Sugarcoat It! Managing Diabetes
Dianna Cotterell, RN, MEd, CDE: RN Care Manager & 
Catherine Genthner, MAS, RD, LDN, CDE: Registered Dietitian
Dianna earned a Master's degree in Distance Education in 2005. She has been a Registered Nurse (RN) since 1977 and a CDE (Certified Diabetes Educator) since 1987. She collaborates with patients and their care providers to formulate individualized plans of care. Dianna is also a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators.

Catherine earned a Master of Administrative Science degree at the School of Continuing Studies of Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore. She has a Certificate in Weight Management Training for Adults from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and has a strong interest in weight management. Catherine is a lifelong member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and its diabetes specialty practice group, Diabetes Care and Education. She is also a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators and the American Diabetes Association.

For Gurtej Singh, MD, helping patients find relief from spine pain is his specialty. As a fellowship-trained and double board-certified interventional spine specialist at GBMC, Dr. Singh knows that back and neck issues can be painful and debilitating for many patients. Dr. Singh provides a variety of nonsurgical treatments for these patients, including a variety of injections, spinal stimulation, physical therapy and pain management options to help reduce chronic pain.
