Lobby Escort/Greeter
In support to the hospital, the lobby escort/greeter greets patients and other visitors entering the lobby, provides directions and other assistance as needed, escorts patients being admitted and discharged, and assists the information desk volunteers.
- Greet patients, families, employees, visitors and other volunteers.
- Provide directions and other assistance as needed.
- Escort patients being admitted with assistance as needed.
- Escort patients being discharged with wheelchair transportation and assist patients into vehicle.
- Bring available wheelchairs to lobby for use as needed.
- Assist information and admitting desk as needed.
- Knowledge of wheelchair use and safety.
- Work effectively with others without direct supervision.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Ability to assess those needing immediate assistance.
- Attention to detail in an environment where public contact is constant.
This position description briefly describes this role's responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as determined to support the hospital. All volunteers are required to (a) notify designated staff member of any absences; (b) sign in and out when reporting to and leaving their volunteer assignment; (c) conform to established dress code including wearing hospital-issued name badge; (d) maintain confidentiality; and (e) adhere to annual compliance requirements as set forth by GBMC and its regulatory agency.
