Physical Therapy Volunteer
In support to the hospital, the physical therapy department volunteer assists the staff in patient and non-patient areas.
- Assist patients with exercise equipment (under supervision of physical therapist).
- Prepare hot-cold packs.
- Follow with IV poles, oxygen tanks and wheelchairs as needed.
- Restock supplies in whirlpool room/storage area.
- Replenish clean linen.
- Work effectively with others.
- Knowledge of wheelchair, cardiac chair, and stretcher safety features.
- Knowledge of proper body mechanics to prevent injuries.
This position description briefly describes this role's responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as determined to support the hospital. All volunteers are required to (a) notify designated staff member of any absences; (b) sign in and out when reporting to and leaving their volunteer assignment; (c) conform to established dress code including wearing hospital-issued name badge; (d) maintain confidentiality; and (e) adhere to annual compliance requirements as set forth by GBMC and its regulatory agency.
