The Birth Experience
Because your baby's well-being is of the utmost importance, GBMC has an up-to-date security system. All visitors of Maternity, the High-Risk Unit, and the Nursery must stop at the OB Admitting Desk, and leave their driver's license or other valid identification. They will receive a badge which allows them access through the automatic doors, except those doors leading to the Newborn Nursery. Immediate family members are allowed in the Nursery accompanied by the Nursery staff. All traffic on the maternity floor is monitored and recorded by an electronic surveillance camera.
Significant others may visit around-the-clock. In addition, others are invited -- two at a time--between 9 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Siblings, accompanied by the significant other may visit anytime. Overnight stays by siblings are not permitted.
