Local pharmacies and retailers such as CVS, Walgreens, Giant Food, Safeway, Weis, and Walmart also offer COVID-19 vaccinations.
mRNA 3rd DOSE
As of 9/2/21, 3rd doses of mRNA vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) are approved for use. 3rd doses are ONLY for people with a moderately to severely compromised immune system, as determined by a physician. This 3rd dose should be given at least 28 days after the 2nd dose in the series. It should also be the same product as the first two doses of vaccine.
Please note: The "mRNA 3rd doses" are different than “COVID-19 booster shots” – read more below.
COVID-19 BOOSTERS
Mix and Match Booster Dosing: FDA also granted EUA for the use of heterologous (also known as “mix and match”) booster doses in eligible populations with currently available COVID-19 vaccines. Refer to the grid above for guidance.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Bring your state issued photo ID, insurance card, and COVID vaccine card or Immunet Vaccine Record (if you previously received at least 1 COVID vaccine)
- View Vaccine Emergency Use Authorizations before your appointment: Moderna, Pfizer, Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)
- COVID-19 vaccines may be given at the same time as other vaccines, if needed
- You cannot be vaccinated:
- Until 10 days after receiving a COVID-19 diagnosis
- If you have an active COVID-19 infection
- Until 10 days after receiving monoclonal or polyclonal antibody infusion or convalescent plasma
- Consider using the V-Safe app on your smartphone to tell the CDC about any vaccine side effects and to receive reminders
