Carissa Bragdon, MSN, ACNP joined the GBMC team in 2018. Carissa obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Villanova University, where she graduated with honors. She then began her nursing career as a bedside nurse at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in the Coronary Care Units. Carissa went on to receive a Masters of Science in Nursing at The Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and became board certified as an Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2011. Prior to coming to GBMC, Carissa worked at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit as a nurse practitioner.
Aside from her clinical duties, Carissa works as the Educator for Advanced Practice at GBMC. In this role she focuses on training, skills, and continuing education to enhance the clinical practice of Nurse Practitioners and Physicians Assistants throughout the hospital. She also focuses on orientation and mentorship of new advanced practitioners, which has been an ongoing interest and passion in her practice.
Hospitalists at GBMC attend to patients on hospital units and are not available for outpatient appointments.
