Dr. Raisinghani Discusses the Impact COVID-19 has on Mental Health

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted lives all around the world, increasing stress and anxiety to exceptionally high levels. Rachna Raisinghani, MD, Chair of Emergency Psychiatry at GBMC talked with WMAR TV anchor Kelly Swoope about how people can safeguard their mental health during this crisis.

She explained that self-care is essential for all of us, because if you’re not healthy in mind and body, you can’t care for and support other people. Since you can’t control the big things right now, focus on the smaller ones that are within your control. Strive to get a good night’s sleep, eat healthy meals, and stay in touch with friends and family every day. These simple steps can help you make sure both your physical and mental health stay sound.
