Dr. Doran received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at the Montefiore Medical Center of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he also served as chief resident. He then received fellowship training in General Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine as a Robert Wood Johnson Scholar.
Dr. Doran has held numerous leadership roles in the region, including President of the Maryland Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Doran was awarded the Pediatrician of the Year Award by the Maryland AAP, and has been awarded the Volunteer Faculty Award from the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society of the Johns Hopkins University. He was the former Chair of Gilchrist Kids Advisory Board and is a current Board Member of Gilchrist and Chairman of the Board for Gilchrist Baltimore/Joseph Richey House. He has been named as a Top Doc in Baltimore Magazine for the past 20 years
He has been in practice at GBMC since 1999 where he also assumes the position of Chairman of Pediatrics.
