Language of Caring at GBMC
All around GBMC, whether on the hospital campus, in the ambulatory offices, or at Gilchrist, people are commenting about the "HEART-HEAD-HEART" method of communicating with patients, staff, and each other. They recognize it when someone is using that approach and when they themselves use the method.
Nearly 80% of the GBMC staff, physicians included, have been introduced to the sensitivity and mindfulness of Language of Caring. Get in on it! Be a part of the improvement process!
The Language of Caring facilitators have provided many classes, in many venues, including coming out to many practice sites. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. For those who haven't yet participated in this class, there is still time:
Wednesday, May 30
7:00 - 8:30am
5:30 - 7:00pm
Please contact Harold Tucker, or Cate O'Connor-Devlin to sign up.
Subsequent Language of Caring sessions will deal with specific types of interactions and communication skills. Don't be in the minority of left-out providers. Join in, and maybe you, like almost everyone else, will find the 60-90 minutes worthwhile.
