A simple screening could save your life

For decades, experts recommended colonoscopies starting at age 50 — not anymore! Due to the alarming rise of colorectal cancer in young adults, experts now recommend regular colon cancer screenings starting at age 45. Fortunately, during a screening, doctors can often identify and remove noncancerous clusters of cells called polyps before they become cancerous.

If cancer is found, the Sandra and Malcolm Berman Cancer Institute at GBMC has the latest and most effective treatments. Our multidisciplinary team of expert surgeons, gastroenterologists, and oncologists works together to create a personalized care plan, ensuring the best results possible for each patient. The Berman Cancer Institute is pleased to offer the following:

  • State-of-the-art surgical procedures
  • Surgical protocols to enhance the recovery process
  • Chemotherapy
  • Radiation therapy
  • Targeted drug therapy
  • Immunotherapy
  • Oncology support services

It's time...

Unlike other cancers where screening is aimed at early detection, colon cancer screening can actually prevent the cancer from ever occurring. Learn More
