About Us:

The Greater Baltimore Wound Care Center utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to healing throughout a continuum of care model that is JCAHO-compliant. The healing characteristics of every patient, captured in a comprehensive database, have created improved clinical pathways and resulted in more effective treatment protocols. Each patient receives a comprehensive assessment and an individualized treatment plan. Patients may benefit from the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which involves high oxygen content chambers with altered atmospheric pressure. The center also offers ongoing patient education to support wound healing and prevent recurrence of the wound.

Latest News:

Statistics show a tremendous need for wound care treatment. Each year, approximately 6 million Americans will suffer from problem wounds caused by diabetes, circulatory problems and many other conditions - with 1.1 - 1.8 million new cases each year.

Compelling statistics include:
  • 21 million Americans have diabetes
  • 18.3% of people over 60 have diabetes
  • 15% of all diabetics will develop problem wounds
  • Patients with diabetes have a 15-fold increase in the risk of amputation, and approximately 82,000 diabetics will undergo amputation each year.
But there is hope. Studies have shown that wound care treatment facilities have reduced amputation rates and the length of hospital stays.
