Patient Family Advisory Council

Representing the collective voice of all GBMC HealthCare patients and families, the Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) serves as a formal means of involving patients and their families in organizational policy, practices and program decision-making.

The goals of PFAC include:

  • Fostering a collaboration between patients, family members and GBMC HealthCare to identify, promote and ensure a focus on creating the ideal patient experience.
  • Ensuring that care is both patient- and family-centered.
  • Improving patient and family satisfaction.

The GBMC HealthCare PFAC is comprised of patients, family members of patients, and staff representing Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Greater Baltimore Medical Associates, the Greater Baltimore Health Alliance and Gilchrist Services.

Patient Family Advisors (PFAs) are selected following a nomination and application/interview process. All PFAs are asked to share personal experiences, opinions and ideas in a constructive way to effectively improve the patient experience throughout the healthcare system.

Any GBMC, GBMA, GBHA or Gilchrist Services employee, as well as any member of the GBMC HealthCare medical staff, can nominate a patient or family member for consideration as a PFA. To submit a nomination, complete the form on the left.
