What do you bring to the organization as a leader?
My career began at GBMC as a nursing student, which gave me a valuable foundation. Since then, I’ve worked in the Surgical ICU, the ASAP float pool, and nursing education, and now serve as a nurse manager. Over the past 13 years, I’ve built strong relationships and developed a deep understanding of our hospital’s history and culture, tools I draw on every day in my leadership role.

What is the most rewarding part of being a manager?
One of the things I value most is collaborating with bedside nurses, techs, secretaries, and interdisciplinary teams. If I had to pick one thing, it would be supporting and empowering staff. I love seeing nurses grow, build confidence, and advance in their careers.

What is the value of being a leader in a non-system hospital?
I deeply appreciate that bedside staff here have a strong voice in change. There are multiple platforms to share feedback and shape improvements that reflect real frontline needs. This is something I see as a key strength of our organization.

What advice do you have for upcoming leaders?
Start by observing and listening. Ask questions to understand your team and the reasons behind existing practices. Respect current processes while staying curious and open-minded. This balance has helped me build trust and lead change effectively.

Fun Fact:
I’m about to become a mom of two boys! My son Brooks is two years old, and our second little boy is due on September 2. Raising Brooks has been one of the greatest joys of my life, and I’m excited (and bracing) for the next chapter!
