Serving as a formal means of involving patients and their families in organizational policy, practices and program decision-making.
The goals of PFAC include:
- Fostering collaboration between patients, family members and GBMC HealthCare to identify, promote and ensure a focus on creating the ideal patient experience.
- Ensuring that care is both patient- and family-centered.
- Improving patient and family satisfaction.
Patient Family Advisors (PFAs) are selected following a nomination and application/interview process. All PFAs are asked to share personal experiences, opinions and ideas in a constructive way to effectively improve the patient experience throughout the healthcare system.
Any GBMC, GBMA, GBHA or Gilchrist Services employee, as well as any member of the GBMC HealthCare medical staff, can nominate a patient or family member for consideration as a PFA. To submit a nomination, complete the form on the left.
